What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy Defined by Pioneers:

Dr. Benedict Lust   “Naturopathy is a distinct school of healing, employing the beneficent agency of Nature’s forces, of water, air, sunlight, earth power, electricity, magnetism, exercise, rest, proper diet, various kinds of mechanical treatment, and mental and moral science.”

Dr. J. E. Cummins  “Naturopathy is the science, art, philosophy of adjusting the framework, correcting the mental influences, and supplying the body with its needed elements.”

Edward Earle Purinton  “Naturopathy is the perfected Science of Human Wholeness, and it includes all agencies, methods, systems, regimens, practices and ideals of natural origin and divine sanction whereby human health may be restored, enhanced, and maintained.”

Ellen G. White   (1826-1915)  Restorative Power is in Nature  “The only hope of better things is in the education of the people in right principles. Let physicians teach the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but in nature. Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system. Pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness (temperance), rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine providence, --these are the true remedies.” Ministry of Healing, p. 127

Naturopathy has similarities to other ancient holistic systems of health such as: Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Principles of Naturopathy are found in the works of the Greek physician Hippocrates. In 1890, a German Monk, Benedict Lust, introduced Naturopathy to the United States.

Disease Begins in the Colon!  The answer- Colon Cleansing and Detoxification & Lifestyle change.

There can be no healing without a clean blood; disease never comes without a cause. In most cases, toxemia is the cause of many diseases. Bacteria and viruses thrive in toxic blood. When the colon is clogged with putrefied fecal matter, the system is auto-intoxicated. “For [it is] the life of the flesh is in the blood.” Leviticus 17:4.

"Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 2 Corinthians 7:1

“When in faith the human agent does all he can to combat disease, using the simple methods of treatment that God has provided, his efforts will be blessed of God.” Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 25. E.G. White. (God's Eight Laws of Health)

The influence of the Spirit of God is the very best medicine that can be received by a sick man or woman. Heaven is all health; and the more deeply the heavenly influences are realized, the more will be the sure recovery of the believing invalid.” Medical Ministry, p. 12, E.G. White.

Only God can Heal, if you obey.!

If Obedient to God's Law: His promise is!

"And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians (Symbol of Sin): for I [am] the LORD that healeth thee."  Exodus 15:26

"Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou [art] my praise."  Jeremiah 17:14

If Disobedient to God's Law: Great plagues and sore sickness.

28:58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
28:59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, [even] great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
"Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
28:61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which [is] not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed."  Deuteronomy 28:58-61.

Definition of Disease:

The only hope of better things is in the education of the people in right principles. Let physicians teach the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but in nature.

"Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system." A Naturopath is not a Medical Doctor

And therefore does not perform the common-allopathic health care practices, but provide consultation and coaching to their clients regarding the use of   hydrotherapy, poultices, herbal medicine, natural vitamins, mineral supplementation, massage, steam therapy, infra-red lights, exercise, diet and nutritional therapy, hydro-colonics, cleansing and detoxification and other natural modalities. The clients will then be able to make choices on their own, thus gaining a role in their own abilities to achieve a healthy and quality lifestyle.
